Grettings from the B.V.

All packed up and ready to go!

See y'all at home!

ALL DONE!!!

WOO HOO!! That test was easy. I dominate!!

Last day of school!

Well right now I am just inbetween taking my last test today. I just took my health final, so now all I have left is art history in a couple hours. Health was a piece of cake, I think I aced it with ease. I am a little worried for art history because there is a lot more material than was on previous tests, so I am hitting the books pretty hard in a few minutes. So with that note, I will see everyone in a couple days!!

Philosophy

Well I just took my philosophy test today. It was so hard!! It was similar format as the previous tests, but more questions, and covered more material. It was so hard! I studied so long, and I still couldnt remember half of the arguments that I needed to memorize. I dont even care anymore, because it is over! I am thinking my grade will be somewhere in the C range. Oh well. I have two more tests, both on friday. They shouldnt be too bad.

2 DOWN.......

Sunday, December 10, 2006

English tomorrow... shouldnt be too hard. I am not worried about it at all. It is an open book test with an essay at the end. Not too shabby.

Plasma

So Wednesday, and today at the b-ball game at halftime one of the sponsors of the basketball team came in and had a contest to give away a 42" plasma tv. It was intense, the whole school was there pretty much. They drew tickets like a raffle, and 2 people went at a time, and had 30 seconds to make a layup, a free throw, and three pointer, and half court. No one could get it under 30, so they moved it to 45, then tonight they moved it to a minute, and finally a kid got it. It was intense, the whole place was going crazy!! I wanted to try it! The night before we were in the gym and we tryed it, and i just couldnt make the half courter. Tough stuff. Oh well it was cool to see, even though it should have been me!!

Laundry

Hey Y'all
So I just had the biggest laundry day of my life today! I had to do so much of it! I am glad it is done though, because I actually have stuff to wear. I went to Wal-Mart and bought some more hangers so I could free up some room in my drawers, and I am pretty excited about that too. Maybe I am just a nerd. Probably.
Thats about it for now
See yuh

Sunday, December 03, 2006

Hi everyone, its been a while. Our mens and womens basketball teams each hosted a 4 team tournament. The guys team beat the two schools they played by like 90 combined points. They were both pretty terrible teams, but it was fun to watch because we just dominated them. The baseball team was in charge of taking the money to get in, and so I did that for two games, it was kinda fun.
So I have been playing Rampart on Nintendo a lot lately. Me and Alex (both of them) have been addicted to it lately, because it is a way fun 2 player game, and it is just addicting. I love it!
This is the last week of classes, it has gone by so fast! I cant believe it!
I just found out that Dustin Tycksen is for sure going to come out here next semester. He called me and told me, and then asked me what all my classes were, so he could be in them all, it was pretty funny.

New glove

I got my new baseball mitt today, it is pretty nice, but definately not a Rawlings. I played catch with it today, and it is pretty stiff, but overall I think I like it. I did a powerpoint presentation today for my computers class, that was the last assignment in that class before the final. I have an easy A in that class, so I am pretty happy about that. The only class that I am pretty worried about the final is in Philosophy. I am not good at understanding everything in that class. From what he said today, the final is going to be a lot harder than the other tests we have taken. At least we have the whole week off the week before finals so I can cram as much as I can in my noggin.
Here are some more pictures:

Back to work

So, today has been a good day, I only had 2 classes, Institute, and Art History. So basically I only had one real class so that was nice! I dad and I bought my plane tickets home, and we got a good deal! I am going on jetBlue, and it is only costing $250.00! that is a steal compared to the other carriers. The next cheapest flight I could find was $383.00 from Delta. I am proud of my findings!! I only have 18 days left before I come home by the way! I got my film developed from my other disposable camera here are some of my favorites from that roll.
I dont know know what this orange stuff is... weird

Killer hat hair
The hill is a lot steeper than it looks

My day and stuff

I basiclly have run out of room on my hard drive, so I am trying to figure out how to fix it, but I am not smart, and I probably will do more damage than good. The basic problem is my music. I am doing a defragmentation right now, so hopefully that clears up some room for me. Thats about all I have to say about that.
I am back in VA and I spent a total of 13 hours traveling today. (including the 2 hours I lost in the time change, airport waiting, etc.) Pretty big day I would have to say.
So Dad and I got all the way to the airport, and I realized that I forgot my keys at home. Not a god feeling at all. We called mom, and she made a mad dash to the airport, and dad went and met her, and brought them to me just in time for me to wait in line for security and just make the flight. Pretty nerve-racking experience. I dont recommend it. I was close to pulling out hair, but it turned out to work, so no big deal.
The end.

My talk

Well I just finished preparing my talk. It should go pretty well, it wasnt a hard subject to talk about I think. I will fill you in on how it goes.
Last night I got some good sleepin'. I went to bed around 1:00 so that wasnt too great, but I slept until around 1:00. I was so happy becuase I usually dont sleep in very long. I was out like a light last night too, Kellen was playing nintendo in the other room, and I just was sick of it so I went to bed and I fell asleep almost instantly, which is almost miraculous for me. I always take forever to fall asleep. Anyway, I am glad I went to bed, because they stayed up until 3:00 playing a football game. They are crazy they are playing as we speak actually.
Tonight was the Stake General Priesthood Meeting. It was a good one, I enjoyed it. I it is strange how small the stake is here though, it only went to one overflow, and the stake center is the exact same church design as the Dunsinane church, so there werent many guys there. It make me remember that the last time I went to a Stake General Priesthood meeting back home I spoke! I had to speak to a lot more people than was there today, thats for sure! I had never spoken in front of that many people before. But I dominated, so it was all good.
I need to go to bed.
Travis sorry I didnt write back to you today, I always just leave the computer on so it looked like I was online, but I wasnt there. Too bad. I liked the song though, much better than the original!
ok bye

Some pictures of the leaves on the way to Richmond

Our soccer team lost today. They made it to the semi's but they lost. Everyone is good though because they are mostly all on the soccer team, and our team didnt have any soccer players and we went far, so that was pretty cool. I couldnt play the last 2 days of games because of my bum toe. Oh well.
I have been listening to a lot of like "chill" music lately. Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Matt Costa, Donavon Frankenreiter, G. Love and basically anyone that sounds like Jack Johnson. Good Stuff.
The End

MY TOE!!

So I was playing intramural indoor soccer on monday night and I did a slide tackle, which led to a very painful experience. Somehow my big toe got affected by this offensive attack. I did something to the ligaments. I had volleyball on tuesday, but I couldnt play so after class I had the trainer look at it (he is my volleyball teacher) Its almost a sprain but I dont know. He just told me to stay off of it for a while. Pretty weird. It hurts pretty bad, its way swollen and it is bruised too. I took a picture of it, and I will get that on here asap because it is cool looking. Now I kind of know why when football players sit out a game because of turf toe or something like that. It HURTS!! I cant even bend my toe at all. Its funny.

This is someone else's dirty grubby toe that I found on google, but you get the idea. It actually kinda looks like this but with more bruise

The Streak is OVER!!

Wow so it has been a few days since my last post. I have had a pretty busy weekend and stuff. Friday, we played b-ball, and then we went and watched Nacho Libre. Good movie. "Its the best, I LOVE it!" ha ha. Saturday I went bowling with a huge group it was way fun. There were 17 of us. I did increasingly worse after every game. Oh well it was fun. Sunday was a good relaxing day, and then we went to our coach's house and had dinner and watched football. That was fun to get together.
On friday, we had a baseball meeting, and one guy was 15 minutes late. Late = BAD NEWS!!!
Today we had to do ladders in the gym in under 27 seconds. That is absolutely impossible. I couldnt even do it. We did about 10 of those, and remember this is all at 6am. Well to put it mildly, we had about 5 people throwing up. Not fun. I broke my streak of 6 years without throwing up. It technically wasnt a real throw up, I did some dry heaves, and then on the last one, about a tablespoon's worth of stuff came out. DANG! I had a good streak!
The only funny thing about that is after dinner, I was telling Kellen about my little streak, and we talked about the Seinfeld where Jerry had a 13 year streak. Sure enough, that episode was on 20 minutes later!! What a strange coincidence!!
Another funny thing about that episode, a different part of that episode Elaine was talking about how a guy named Alex that sat next to her in Art History in college was annoying, and my friend Alex sits next to me in Art History, and he was watching tv with us!! CRAZY!!
Tonight is soccer. Pretty pumped about that.
Thats about all I have to say about that.
See ya.

LOST!!!

WHY IS LOST NOT ON UNTIL FEBRUARY??!!! I hate tv they do this to you on prupose just to make eveyone mad. I cant take it anymore. Man im going crazy, tv is all there is to do here! ha ha ha. Prison Break is pretty good so far, if that stops until february I will rage though. Stupid tv.
I am a little aggrivated with itunes. I preordered a cd last week, and I keep trying to download it but there is something wrong with it and it jsut says to try back later, but it still doesnt work. I dont appreciate it.
I think I am going to bed. I got a good nap in today after class from like 11:00 until around 3:30. It was a good one. I think that is a sign that I need more sleep though, because I was out. I usually dont take very long naps. So without further adieu, I am going to bed.

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

These are both from the State Playoffs against Jordan. I thought they were pretty cool.

So today I took a test in Art History. Not good. I definately didnt do good on it. It feels like i didnt even have time to study for it. Last week was pretty busy. But it was harder than the other ones have been. Everyone didnt think that they did too good on it.
Yesterday I drove to the airport again to pick up Alex. It was a good trip. I liked being able to be by myself for a while. It was a good way to relax and unwind.
Today was the first home basketball game, it was a good one. We won 90 something to 78ish. It was a fast paced intense game. It was our first win too so that was good. They are 1-2 now. It was cool because the gym is small and the ceilings are low, so it got pretty loud in there. Good stuff. Its raining right now, it rains like in a mist, but it just comes down way hard. Really different than back home.
I dont really have anything else to say right now so see ya.

Stuff

Well its been a while, but things are about the same around here. I have been pretty busy with homework and dodgeball. As soon as I can, I will put some pictures up on here, I just have to finish out my camera. My t-shirt for dodgeball is pretty sweet though! Friday was the first time that I didnt get really any sleep. I had dodgeball thursday night and that didnt get over until 12:00 and the, and I had to finish up a presentation that I was doing in Art History the next day and I stayed up until 2:00 doing that and then I had to get up at 5:30 that morning for lifting. I was so tired, I slept through one of my classes and I slept through the devotional. It was crazy! After my last class I took a really good nap though. It all works out.
Last night was pretty cool, we went to Roanoke and went to TGI Friday and then we went and saw The Prestige. That movie was AWESOME!!! I really liked it, I want to see it again so I can pick up some more things that I missed. It was a fun day. We had a pretty big group that went so it was fun.
Tomorrow I am going back to Richmond to pick up Alex, so that will be pretty interesting. I had a good trip when I went on Thursday, I actually enjoyed being away for a while. Pretty relaxing. I like driving long distances, I guess I get that all from Dad, becuse Mom doesnt like it. I think that is funny!
Time is winding down until I get home! I cant wait!!

Blah

Well another day has come and gone. It was a pretty decent day. Nothing too exciting. Last night I ended up staying up until around 1:00 just because I wasnt tired, and I was talking to some guys on my floor. I knew that I needed to go to bed, but I just didnt feel like it. I also was doing homework too, so it wasnt completly random. So I went to bed late, and then I had to wake up at 5:30 for lifting. Not cool. I had to take a test in health after that and it was a pretty hard test just because for the end, you had to write in a bunch of facts that I didnt have completlyhave mesmorized. I did good on the rest of it though I think. Its weird to think that tomorrow is Halloween. I feel like I have been out here forever, but at the same time it has gone by really fast. Not too shabby. I took some cool pictures of the leaves yesterday, they are pretty cool looking. As soon as I finish out the camera I will put some more on here so everyone can take a gander.
Im tired.

I am going to bed

Free Food!

Today was a pretty good day. I got to sleep in until 12:00. I havent done that for quite some time now. At 4:00 the team got together and listened to a presentation of a company that sells security systems in the summer. 2 guys on our team did it last summer, so they were using this as a recruiting chance. The company also became a sponsor for our team which is really cool. They gave $2,500 to the baseball team. That was way cool of them. The company is just filthy rich and growing like crazy, it is called APX security systems. They talked to us today about the company, what it is about, and the benifits of working for them. One of the huge and obvious benefits is that you get paid rediculous amounts of money for only working for 3 months during the summer. The guys on our team made over $30,000 just this past summer. They are both getting married, and have that all paid for, and they both bought new cars and stuff. It seems like a scam, and that you would work the summer and not end up getting a check, but it is the real deal. Last summer they were in Bakersfield, CA and sold there. It is the basic door to door salesman job but it is one of the most successful, and largest summer sales programs out there. I am thinking about doing it. They start right after school gets out all the way until a few days before school starts again, but I talked to one of them and they are pretty leanient with that if you have other circumstances. For example, I asked him if I would be able to work the main portion of it, but then leave on a mission, and he said they are all for it. It is cool, I am definately going to look into it more. They said some of the guys that have been selling for about 5 years or so have made at least up to a million dollars. That is crazy. I think that the company has a location in Provo. Oh I almost forgot to say that they took us all to dinner at Applebees too. They let us get whatever we wanted, so I got an appetizer, the Fiesta Lime Chicken, and then some apple pie. It was awesome! I love free food! They gave us a bunch of cool shirts and hats too, they were cool guys.
The funny thing is that after that, I went to a movie in Lexington, and we saw them in the foyer after. It was funny. Cool beans, I am tired, I am up too late... again
bye

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball

So the next intramural we are playing is dodgeball. It is so intense! I think it is more intense than wiffle ball! It is way fun. It gets so intense when you are one of the only ones left on your team. Oh man its fun. We are tyed for 1st in our pool. I think the playoffs start on Wed. It is way cool, but I am so sore today. We played last night, and throwing a dodgeball is different than throwing a baseball, so my back is way sore. Not used to using those muscles. Good stuff. I am glad it is the weekend, this week in some ways went by fast, but in other ways it was way slow. What can ya do. I have been kinda flaky writing on this lately, but at least I havent given up! I actually like writing on here, at first I didnt want to, but I find it a good way to stay in touch as well as keep me busy and stuff... its good.
That is about all I can think of for now, maybe I will add to it later.
Bye

oh ps I got the Halloween package, Thanks Mom and Dad! I was way surprised! I love the candy!

Mom thanks for sending my mail

Jeff tell Russin thanks for the card

I already told Lindsay thanks for the picture of Jay

Uh if I left anyone off of the thanks list, sorry and thanks for whatever!

Check out our baseball schedule for this season!

I better see all of you at EVERY game!! Just kidding!

ok bye

Alumni game

At the request of Dad, I am going to give an update on the alumni game on sat. It went well, we ended up winning 17-9 or something like that. I did pretty good, I went 3-3 and got hit by a pitch in the funny bone. It was so weird my hand was numb for 10 or 15 minutes! My first at bat I hit a grounder but the field was so bad, it just stuck in the dirt, so they didnt even throw it over. Technically it was a hit. My second at bat I hit a line drive to left and got a single. My third at bat I hit a grounder inbetween first and second. I think I ended up with 3 or 4 RBIs. Not too bad. I hat 2 catches in the outfield too, I almost caught on that went to the the fence, but I was a couple steps too late. Overall it was a good way to end the season. I was happy with it.
Right now, I have nothing to do, so I am getting pretty bored. I havent really had homework, and without baseball I dont really have anything to do. I took a nice 2 hour nap this afternoon after class, that was real nice.
Other than that, I dont really have anything else to say right now, so see ya later.

My new mitt

We ordered all our stuff that we are getting from this company. We get any mitt we want, a pair of sunglasses (not as cool as mine) a shirt, and 2 pairs of batting gloves all for $150! That was what the BBQ was paying for, but I didnt do so well at selling tickets... oh well.
It was nice, today was the first day that we didnt have to do anything for baseball. It was real nice to just relax.
School has been nice and easy this week and last week. I dont really have much homework lately.
Man, toiletries and stuff like that are so expensive! I never really noticed it because I never bought it before. I had to get shampoo and razors and deoderant and stuff like that today. I ended up spending almost $50! I couldnt believe it! I bought some other stuff like food and snacks, but still I was amazed!
I cut my frinds hair today, we borrowed some clippers from another guy on our floor, and I gave him a haircut. I didnt do too bad, but I dont know how to blend it in very well, so I didnt take too much off the sides. But I dominate.
I got a picture of Jay in his Halloween pictures today in the mail, that was a cool surprise! He just gets bigger and bigger! I cant wait to see him.
I am off to bed, talk to everyone later

Sleepin' In

So today started out pretty good... I went to lifting, ate breakfast, and went back to the room to lay down. Usually when I do this, I just rest and dont fall asleep. Well today was a different story. I ended up laying there, not very sleepy, but next thing I know I look at the clock and it is 10:45, 5 minutes before my class gets out. Man I was all disoriented. There are devotionals every Friday at 11:00 and I have to go to those, so I hurried and showered, and after that I ate and went to lunch and Art History. Luckily my professor teaches the same class at 2:00, so I went to that, and hurried and made it to practice. It was an interesting day, but it all worked out. It was weird going into the other class, the atmosphere was completely different, and it was just weird. Oh well, like I said, it worked out.
After practice, I watched the last episode of Prison Break that I needed to watch in order to get caught up for the new episode on Monday. It was a good one, I really like that show. Along those same lines... Lost is really crazy too! I am all confused with all the new twists they put in there. I love that show! I sure hope Jeff and Russin's car (aka Mr. Eko) are going to be alright! Such a good show.
Tonight, me and a bunch of guys went and played basketball, and volleyball for like 2 and a half hours! It was way fun. Basketball was ok, I dont really like basketball as much as I used to, I think it is because I am not very good. But volleyball is so fun, I love it. We had a good time, I hope we do it again but with more volleyball.
Tomorrow is the big bbq that we are putting on. I am glad it is finally here, I was getting sick of hearing about it. The alumni game is tomorrow too. I am excited for that, but we might not get to play because the field is wet. It rained a lot this week, and it is just straight mud. It will be a shame if we dont play because we put so much effort into getting that field to actually sort of look like a baseball field. We actually can see the grass. I guess we will just have to pray that it is warm, sunny, and windy tomorrow so it dries out.
That is about all for now, I need to get rested for the big game... I hope

Stupid wiffle ball

So we lost in the championship today in wiffel ball. We played the team that had 4 guys on the baseball team on it. We played pretty good defense, but we couldnt score any runs. It was stupid. Now we are all mad, one guy on their team will never stop talking about it. He is just like that, he just wants to always prove he is better and cooler than everyone. Oh well it was fun though. WAY intense. I got a 76 on my health test. I didnt do that good, but I was in the higher percentile of the class. Not many people did very well, so I dont feel too bad about the score.
This morning in lifting, 3 guys were 6 minutes late. For every minute that someone is late for practice or lifting we have to run our guts out. Today since 3 people were so late (they are all roomates, slept through alarms) we had to run like crazy. We ran for about an hour. We started by running 2 miles (that was easy) and then we had to run up the monster hill 5 times in under 45 seconds. That is barely enough time to do it, so we all had to push it so hard. I almost threw up. It was bad. Our coaches were definately not happy at all. Oh well, its in the past now.
time for bed

Midterms

Its officially miderms.
So far it has been a good week of school. I got my philosophy test back on monday, and I ended up getting a C+ with a 77. Not too bad, it was a really hard test. I got pretty much the class average, so I dont feel too bad. I also got my Art History test back today: I got a 99! I was so pumped! My professor put some extra credit on there, but even without that, I would have still gotten an A I think. Most of my frinds in that class got a really good grade because we all studied together a lot, so that really helped! I was really glad though. So far, I havent had any homework since thursday night, so that is really good. I really am enjoying being able to watch all of the baseball games without worrying about doing homework later. Not much has been going on really, it has been rainy yesterday and today, but it is not as cold as it was last week, so that is good.
This week is our last week of practice, and then we are finishing it off with the alumni game on saturday. Kinda mixed feelings about it, but it will be alright.
I am almost registering for my classes next semester, I have to see my advisor, and then I can register.

no wiffle ball this week :(

time for bed.

my arm is twitching

i have to get up early

i need to wash my jeans

I dont have any clean ones left

ok bye

Our football team actually won their second game of the season today! They played Goerge Mason. I think that it is just a club team though, they werent very good. But they won. Today was the unofficial homecoming game. The actual homecoming weekend is next weekend, but the team has a bye so the game was today. Kinda weird.
Its cold here! We are getting frost in the mornings, its weird. I am not really excited for the winter here because I have heard so many bad things about it! Oh well I can handle it, im a tough guy.
I started watching prison break finally. I have the tape that Staci gave me but I havent been able to get a hold of a VCR, so I just downloaded the next episode thinking I would already have watched the first one, but today we were really wanting to watch it, so we just went ahead and watched the second episode. I am pumped to be getting into it again. I am into 3 series now, Lost, Prison Break, and The Office. I love being addicted to shows like this, its cool.

Thats about all I feel like writing now, I have early church and stuff, so thats it thats all thats all there is

Wiffle Ball!!

Hi everyone! Its been a while, but I guess I have been pretty busy, and also I just didnt really feel in the mood to sit down and write. Uh, things have been good, I wont rind out about my Philosophy test until Monday. I took my Art History test on Tuesday, I think that I did pretty good, better than the last test for sure. I am actually waiting to get scores back on 3 tests.
I was able to talk to Tyler on Monday night so that went good, he was really excited. I am glad I got to talk to him, he and I were pretty close. I wrote Mark Smith a letter, but I didnt get it sent off until Monday, and I found out later that day that he left for Baltimore that day! I hope they just forward it to him. I thought for sure I would get it off in time, oh well.
They have a lot of different intermural sports here, and this week the new one was a wiffleball league. Me and kellen got a team together with my friend Alex, and a guy from the team that is older, but we get along really good, he is cool. So it was us 4 and you have to have 2 girls on the team, so we got a girl that is in our volleyball class, and then a girl from the soccer team. We DOMINATE!! We played last night and smoked 'em, and we played again tonight and won big again. It is intense, we play in the SAC (stoddard activites center) its a small gym basically, just enough room for 1 basketball court. If it hits the ceiling you can still catch it and get an out. The ceiling is really low and triangle shaped (like a barn). But it is cool, our only real competition is a team with 4 guys on the baseball team, so it will be intense playing them! Oh man it was good. The winner of the league gets a t-shirt, and its like a coveted prize here, everyone wants to win that shirt. Every sport they do they give shirts to the winners. Its cool.
The weather is starting to get colder, the leaves are changing more and more, and a couple of trees are already dumping leaves all over.
I just found out about a band called Motion City Soundtrack. They are pretty cool, I like them a lot.
Uh, I think that is about it for now, tell Grandma I am thinkin about her mom!

adios

Grandpa Butterfield

We are supposed to write an essay describing someone who influenced your life, or describe that person in detail. I chose to talk about grandpa Butterfield. I was trying to think of a few things that I could say about him, and I decided to "Google" him. It was pretty cool, it brought up this website called Zoom Info, and it had his obituary along with link to things that were talked about in the obituary, like Butterfield Ford, Riverton Historical Society etc. I thought it was pretty cool. Check it out!

Once I turn in my final draft, I will post it on here for all yall to read. Its nice, in my english class, we are required to do 2 rough drafts, and get them critiqued, and then turn in the final draft. It helps take off the pressure and also helps you make it better. I like it, I thought it was dumb at first, but its good. I got a B on my first essay, but I didnt spend as much time on it as i should have. I sort of just breezed through it. Oh well, I have an A in the class, it is way easy.
Gotta read Philosophy. Man that book is so hard to read, I read some of it after church and I kept falling asleep!

New York, New York

Dont pay attention to the video, just listen and enjoy the wonderful song!

Man I love saturdays! Nothing but relaxation and playoff baseball! I woke up at 9 (not a fan of that) because we had that study thing for art history. I got back around 10 and just crashed until 1! It was so good! I really needed to catch up on some sleep. I just took it easy for the rest of the day and watched all the games on tv and listened to some of the byu game on the internet, and hung out. I just got done watching a couple of episodes of "The Office" that a kid that lives nextdoor had downloaded on his computer. Good stuff.
I was talking to Kyle about this today, but we should get tickets for the BYU Utah game. I am pretty sure that I will be in town, and that would be way fun to go to, especially now that that game could possibly determine the conference champ. Just a thought.
Anyway, I have 9:30 church tomorrow, so I am going to hit the sack.

GO YANKEES!!!! ha ha

Philosophy = Bad News!

I think I did ok on my test today, but definately not as good as I did before. He wasnt lying when he said the test would be harder. I know I didnt fail, but I didnt do as good as before, I didnt know all the stuff for the essay which is like 80% of the test. I studied hard too. Oh well. I am really glad it is the weekend though. Especially because I watch all the playoff games and dont do my homework until later which is hard because I go to bed late and get up so early. My eyes have been hurting lately and they were bloodshot yesterday. I try to go to bed early, but I am not even tired and I end up just laying there wide awake. I am starting to get a little better though, and I end up taking at least one nap a day, which I was never able to do before. I like naps!
I am so glad that the Yankees are losing 2-1! The only possible way that I would like to see the Yankees go far is for the possibility of another subway series. That would be rad. Its cool we always get a crowd of around 5 guys that are on our team or just like baseball that watch the games with us so it is always on and we can all talk about it together.
Thats about it for now, I need to sleep. I have to go to a study group at 9 tomorrow for art history. I have a test in that class on tuesday which will be pretty tough. We have to memorize a ton of paintings with the title, artist, and date to get the points, so we made flashcards and that helps, but yeah, time for bed.

Test

Big test tomorrow, im pretty nervous about it. It is my second test in philosophy and I have no idea how I will do. I wasnt able to find that same group of people I studied with last test, so I had to do it on my own. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes. I got my essay back in english, I got a B on it, not too bad. Right now I have an A in there so im not too worried about getting that score on the essay. My professor gives bonus points for going to the devotionals every friday afternoon, so that bumped me up. Its an easy class.
Tonight they did the intramurals 3 point competition and dunk contest. It was pretty sweet, the 3 point contest was kinda lame, but the dunk contest was pretty rad. One guy threw down some pretty cool dunks.
Im glad you enjoyed the prank. We were pretty proud of that. That started a little interest in jokes. We are already planning on doing something to another person on our floor. Its all beacuse of the great idea we had yesterday! Every once and a while I think about it and it just makes me laugh! It almost played out perfectly, pretty funny.
Ok I need my sleep so I can dominate on my test tomorrow.

Lost!

Oh man Lost was completely out of control tonight! I couldnt believe it! Oh man it was such a big twist that I wasnt expecting. WOW thats all I have to say about it. I wont talk about it just in case someone missed it, but holy cow it was good.
No school today was nice and relaxing. I got to sleep in, watch the baseball games, play a little tennis, and pull a prank on Kellen.
Me and my friend upstairs named Alex were sitting watching tv and the lady came in and was stocking the vending machines. If you have seen the certain "The Office" episode you will know what I am talking about exactly. Ok in the episode, Jim takes all of Dwights random stuff like stapler, wallet, phone and other office supplies and puts them inside of the vending machine. Dwight goes for his wallet to buy his stuff back, but he sees that his wallet is inside.
Well, Alex had the great idea to do that to Kellen. We talked to the lady and she was fine with it, so I went into the room and snaked his ID card and room key and the lady wrapped it aroung one of the things inside (they were both on a lanyard). So just a little bit ago, Kellen says: "We got a problem, I dont know where my ID card is." I am the worst liar, so I started laughing, and told him to go get me a honey bun(thats what it was around). He was like: No, you go get one and give me my card. I told him to follow me and we went to the rec room and I said again: "man, those honey buns look good, you should get one." He didnt catch it, and just got mad and kept looking around in there. I finally told him to look inside the machine, and he still couldnt see it and I finally pointed it out, and he went crazy on me. It was so funny! I gave him the money to get it our, and the first time it got stuck, so I bought another one and it came out. Oh man, such a good prank, the only bad thing is that Alex was in his room and didnt see it, and the other bad thing is now I am going to get some paybacks, and they probably wont be as nice as mine was... It was worth it though!!

Tuesday, October 03, 2006

Hmm i dont really have much to say today... playoff baseball started so thats real nice. I am afraid that I wont get any studying in now that its the playoffs though so I will have to work at that.
No school tomorrow! The school is having a trip to the DC temple tomorrow so they cancelled all classes. I wasnt able to get a recommend though so im staying here. Real excited to sleep in though, the coaches are letting us just do a workout on our own instead of the 6 am workout as a team, so thats even better news.
Not much else to say...
I hate the Yankees

My bat is here!!

So I got my bat in the mail today!! Its so rad! I used it in practice today and I love it! Mom, I got my package from you today, thanks for sending my meds and of coarse thanks for the hot tamales! I already ate one box in one sitting! I got a letter today from my friend Mark Smith in the MTC, I was really glad to hear from him. He sounds like he is doing well and loving it. Its funny, he said he runs into Mark Davis every once and a while and he says that he is "still the same old Mark" I thought that was funny. So the internet was down again all day, but tonight I think I fixed the problem for good. I have no idea what I did or how I did it, I was just playing around with some settings and now it works like a charm. I really think that it wont give me any more troubles which would be real nice.
Oh man, the mosquitos here are driving me absolutely CRAZY!!! I get a few new bites everytime I am at practice. They arent just normal bites though, they swell up to the size of a golfball and dont ever stop itching. It seriously is just a lump sticking out of my leg, or wherever it is. I cant stop scratching them. I hate it. I think I attract them more than others too because no one else really gets them as bad as I do. Grrrr.
Well best be off to bed.
nighty night

Pictures

Well im just listening to conference on the internet, and I though I would put some pictures on here. So enjoy!

This is the front of my dorm, Craton Hall. I think it is cool looking.

This is the back side of the student union building. It has a pool inside and a couple of ping pong tables and a couple rooms with big screens to watch movies and stuff

This is Durham Hall, its where all the classes are held.

This is the outside of the Knights Sports Arena, everone calls it "the barn" because it used to be horse stables. Its pretty cool.

My new hat and sunglasses

Its a good thing that my finger is in the way on all of these! Oh well.

Big Surprise

So guess what... my internet worked for like a couple hours, and didnt work again until about 30 minutes ago. I hate it, you never know when it will work. I had to do the football game today, so I couldnt go to conference. I was hoping that I would be able to catch the rest of it on the internet, but no, the internet didnt work! Grr. At least I could go to Priesthood though. Its weird because I am so used to the conference times at home, but now it starts later. Kinda fakes me out. I guess one good thing about going to the game today is that I actually got to see a good game; they won their first game today! It was like 28-25. It was so funny, after the game when the coach was talking to the team, a couple of guys dumped the water on him like they won the superbowl or something. It was pretty funny. I guess they just think that they wont win another game so they had to take advantage of the opportunity.
Im kinda bored right now, I am waiting for my laundry to finish.
Oh, yesterday we had our game against Roanoke College. We played 11 innings I think. It was long. But anyway, we were playing pretty good the whole game, we had the lead by at least 1 run pretty much the whole time, but in the 9th inning, they had a few hits and we had a few errors and they scored 4 runs. We should have won. Oh well it was not bad to play. It was an hour drive to get there, and the guys from the team last year told us to enjoy it while it lasts, because it is easily the shortest drive we will ever have. Thats something to definately look forward too... dang! Im not even going to say how bad I did hitting though so dont ask. I played good defense though. I had 6 or 7 put-outs. So that was something that I could be proud of. Well hitting wasnt so bad, I just am having troubles feeling comfortable and stuff. Not a big deal. Its over. Too bad that was our only game this fall though. I want to play again it was good. That team wasnt as good as we made them look. Our team is looking better than I had anticipated though, especially for only having 14 players on the team. I bet the other school though we were just somo podunk school. They had like 35 guys on their team, so we looked a little different than them to say the least.

WOO HOO!!!

Good news! My internet finally works! It has been 2 days! Man I was going crazy. I dont know how people lived without the internet. I couldnt do it. So one of my friends that lives upstairs just started watching lost season one and he doesnt have a computer, so we watch it on mine. I am starting to get hooked again even though I have already seen it, its funny. I am getting him addicted to it though, he is trying to get as caught up as possible before the premier of season 3 so he is just renting random episodes and then just reading the recaps for all the other ones he missed. I am getting pumped for the new season though! It will be good.
Ok well I need to study philsophy before I go to bed.
see ya

work work work

Well right now I am at study hall so I should be studying right now, but the reason why I am writing this right now, is because the internet is down in my room, so this is the only time that I can get on the internet, so I am taking a study break for a few minutes. Its so frustrating because I ask one of my friends in the same dorm, and his internet works just fine. Mine goes in spurts. It will work for a while and be fine then for about a day long span it wont work at all- wireless or the LAN. Stupid huh?! So basically it is a waiting game. Its kind of intense because you dont know when it will work or not, so you are playing a game of "beat the buzzer" (dont really know much about that except it helped jeff stay nice and dry at nights. It sounded like a good thing to say so dont get mad if it doesnt fit)
Well i better get back to work. I have to read and summarize a few articles so... peace out!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Well big surprise I bought another thing off of ebay! If I dont watch myself I am going to get hooked like Dad was for a while! Ha ha just kidding. Anyway, I asked Dad about it yesterday, and we decided to get me a new bat... so I bought one today! Im pretty excited about it!
So lets recap the ebay purchases:

1. Sunglasses

2. Braves hat (technically I got it on the mlb.com site)

3. Batting gloves

4. Chad's present (another mlb.com purchase but I figured that these should be included in the list anyway.)

5. Baseball bat

So basically if anyone asks you how I am doing, or what I am up to, just tell them that I am spending all of my money!

Well thats about it for now

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUSSIN!!!

Just call me Andre Agassi

Unfortunately my sore throat came back today. Its weird my throat doesnt kill, its like deep in my throat. I have to cough out the phlegm but its way deep in there and I cant get it out. Its weird. But i am able to cough better at night so that helps clear things up. But dont worry everybody, its just a cold.

In cooler news, today me and Kellen decided to go to Wal-Mart and buy tennis racquets! We were pretty pumped. I pretty much have never played tennis so its fun to try. We played today and I am so bad, its funny. But we are going to get all the guys and start playing it will be pretty rad. I also had to buy a new lamp today. I wasnt too happy about that. My other lamp broke about a week ago and I couldnt handle being in the dark anymore. I am an idiot though because the lamp didnt come with a bulb and I didnt realize that until I opened it, so I had to drive all the way to the store again to get a bulb. Definately wasnt in a good mood! No worries though because now there is light!

Bowl-O-Rama!

So I went bowling today! It was way fun. We had to drive 45 minutes to get there, but it was good. Me and kellen and 3 other baseball guys went it was cool. They are all older than us too so it was cool that they invited us. We are getting good friends with those guys I like them a lot. One is from Idaho and he is the one of the funniest guys that I know. The other is a quiet guy from Texas and he is way funny too. They are both like 23 or 24 and the other guy is the one that dad met from pennsylvania, and he is a cool guy too. Overall it was a good day, slept it, watched a lot of college football and went bowling. It stinks that there is nothing to do in this town! You basically have to drive 30-40 minutes to do anything fun. Oh well its not too bad.
I already told Kyle and Chad, but gas in Buena Vista is only $2.18 and when we went to Stauton (for bowling) the gas was only $1.97!!! I couldn't believe it! Its not like its a small town or anything, its a city about the size of like Sandy or something. Crazy. I thought that the gas here was way good and then I saw the other gas price. Couldn't believe it.
ok, t.t.f.n. ta ta for now

Friday, September 22, 2006

Hi everybody, guess what, I think I am going to get sick. My throat hurts. its not too fun. Thats about all that I have to say about that so I am going to go to bed.
ok bye

iTunes is cool

Well today I bought Chads birthday present on the internet, its a pretty good one I think. Pretty sure that it is something that he will be able to put to good use
Anyway, in case you didnt know (well maybe everyone except jeff ha ha), itunes is a pretty cool thing! I downloaded the latest version the other day, and it has some cool features. On the last version, if you wanted to have the album art show on the screen or on the ipod itself you had to search for it and do load it on manually. Now you can just log on and it will automatically search for the ones you dont have and update it for you. I have all the cd cover art for all the albums on my itunes its pretty cool. Another cool thing about itunes and a LAN network is that you can make it so your playlists can be viewed and played by anyone else that is on itunes and is connected to the network. Right now there are 9 people logged on and you can just click on their name and it brings up there songs. Its pretty cool, you are able to view and listen to other peoples favorite music and its free. The only thing that I wish you could do is import their songs from their playlist straight to your itunes. Too bad, it helps you learn about new bands and see what other people like to listen to though. I am glad that I discovered it a little while ago.

Cool beans

I talked last night to my friend Mark Smith. He is going to the MTC tomorrow. Its weird that I will have 2 friends there already. He was pretty nervous and excited though but it was good to talk to him. I dont know what the deal is, but lately i havent really had the desire to write on here very much. I think its just because nothing cool has happened, and also I guess I have been pretty busy with school and ball. My sunglasses came yesterday. They are pretty cool, a few scratches, but overall they are good, especially for only $75 bucks. The only bad thing is that they dont fold. Pretty weird. But thats ok because I just am going to put them on my hat when I dont wear them anyway.
School is going pretty good... starting to get a little more work everyday. I guess its because they figure that we are getting the hang of things and we can handle it now. But I only have 3 classes that I have to do constant reading for so its not too bad..
Oh I forgot to tell you but right after I bought the sunglasses, I bought a Braves hat on the internet. Its the old Hank Arron era hat, the royal blue with white on the front and the old "A" logo. Pretty sweet, I like it. As soon as I fill up my camera you will all be able to see everything that I am seeing out here, so I will get on that for ya.
Ok well i need to get ready for practice, so until next time...

Haircut

For some reason I havent witten for a few days its kind of weird. I guess I have just been too busy, or nothing really exciting happened. Today was stake conference. It was pretty good, a little different than what I am used to back home, but not bad. They had to do 3 sessions though! Thats crazy! Its funny the stake center is the EXACT model of the church by our house! Even down to the weird stuff on the walls and the wood panel framing... its just weird. I felt like I was in our church at home! The only real difference is that the gym floor is still carpeted like ours used to be. Its interesting that the stake center is the same size as a normal meetinghouse in Utah is. It was packed too. So I told most of everyone today, but I gave myself a haircut yesterday. I was sick of my hair, it was getting way long. Longer than it has been since I started growing it out last year, or whenever I did it. Not too bad. I just buzzed it, not way short like i did in the summer. Thats about it for now. I have a disposable camera and as soon as I take all the pictures, I will get them put on a cd so I can post pictures for all of y'all to see.
ok bye.
gotta get up early.
really early

Volleyball master!

So today we bought a plane ticket for me to come home for Thanksgiving! Me and dad were looking at tickets the other day and they were around $400 bones and that was the best deal, and now today I was just looking at the flights to see if they went up and the exact same flight was only $268 bucks! I got all pumped, so I called dad, and we bought the ticket! Its official, I fly home on November 21, and fly home on the 27th. I am pretty excited to go home!! In other news, I had volleyball class today and it was like the best day for volleyball so far! We all played so good! I am getting so good at volleyball now. I can pass, set and spike pretty good now. I can actually smash the spike instead of just hitting it over. You might as well call me a pro. I never used to bea able to spike it the right way, but now I got the skills so I can hit it like a champ! Well I better wrap it up, I gotta get up early tomorrow. Man its hard to wake up at 5:30!!!

Jeff's article

Check it out, this isJeff's article in the school newspaper!

Test

So I beat Super Mario 3 today. Good day. I am probably going to start playing Super Mario 2 here right quick. I took my Philosophy test today. It was pretty hard! It had 7 multiple choice questions worth only like 2 pts each and the rest of the points(80 something) was all on a 2 page essay you had to write. College is hard! But I don't think I did too bad though. I was able to do the whole thing, but we will just have to see wont we? Last night at study hall I was just sitting adn studying my book for that class and some guy came up and invited me to go study with him and a few other people that have the same class. That was good because I was able to get new ideas and learn new stuff. I think I would have really struggled even more without that so it was cool.
Man this gettin up at 5:30 is really getting to be a hard thing for me to do. I have to try to go to bed early so I get more sleep, but I can never fall asleep quickly. So today I am just so tired and worn out. Plus I have that class pretty early in the day, so I was still tired when I took the test. Oh well, once I get into more of a routine it will get better; But right now im just tired! Um thats about all I have to say right now.

Cooler shades!

Good news, I bought a pair of sunglasses! I didnt get the ones i just wrote about, these are just barely used but in good shape. I think it was a good deal, but maybe im just dumb! Ha ha but ya these are way cooler than the other ones duh! Im pretty excited though because they were only $75 bones. I'll take a picture of them when i get them because mom gave me some cameras! So thats pretty much the end of my story.

sunglasses!

Shades

I am thinking about buying some sunglasses for baseball. When I am playing center field the sun is right in my eyes! It is bad too because it is always misty and kinda smoggy looking so its hard to see the ball. Tell me what you think of this pair of shades. They are on ebay and I am thinking about bidding on them. So... should i get them?!

Randomness

Well today was another day of doing the chains at our football game. It was not as cool as last time because our team got destroyed! it wasnt even a good game. They lost 42-7. Oh well it was alright I guess. I am starting to get to know and be better friends with the guys here, its pretty cool. So I have been playing Mario a lot still. I am addicted! Almost got it beat. I dont even notice the humidity anymore which is nice, the only thing I am still having troubles adjusting with is the time change. I just dont feel tired when I am supposed to. Plus the tv times are not as good here. I like the times that shows are on back home. Everything starts later here its weird. This is just like a hodge podge of random ramblings, I dont know why, but I keep writing sentences that have absolutely anything to do with what I was talking about earlier... too bad for you! There is nothing to do in this town, you really have to be creative to figure out what to do on the weekends! I am not creative so its rough. In some ways I still feel like I am in high school. The small school, small sports, still play cops and robbers at night (thats what some people are doing tonight, not me trust me, thats pushing it for something to do.) But I am playing Nintendo so I guess I have no room to talk.
Well thats about it for now, I really need to get these things organized or outlined or something so I dont just keep doing long random posts... hmmm maybe later.

Blah

Its late...im not tired.

Must Save The Princess!!

Well its getting close to bedtime seein how I gotta get up nice and early tomorrow. The good thing is that we only do it mon. wed. and fri. I dont really have much to say tonight... school was good today I had institute at 8 and then volleyball at 9:30 and English at 12:30 then baseball at 3:00 Not too bad of a day! We went to the high school in Lexington ( about 7 miles away) to practice because we are practicing at a middle school right now and its not exactally a "real field" but its a good field, its a little smaller than copper hills but its not bad. We hit today at practice. I think I did a pretty good job, it felt good and I had some pretty decent swings. You can tell that I am just a bit rusty, but that will get better with time. I have another night with little to no homework which is real nice!

I need to do laundry... my clothes are getting pretty scarce but I still have some. My laundry bag is about to burst. The only problem is that it costs 2.25 to do one load (including dryer) so if I want all my clothes done I would need to do 2 loads. I just dont have the quarters! Its stupid they have NO coin machines in this whole town too! I just havent made it to the bank to cash the ten dollars mom gave me into quarters. Once I do that I will be in god shape with the laundry situation.
Its funny I got invited to be in a fantasy football league here and the league name is called SVU Football Buddies but the weird thing is that I have no idea who invited me to be in this league and how they got my email address in the first place!! Oh well it will be fun anyway! I just want to find out who it is that invited me... weird.

So Clark and Travis will be proud of me because they are the ones that started doing this; yesterday I downloaded a Nintendo emulator on my computer so I can download and play any Nintendo game, and I have been playing Super Mario Brothers 3 like crazy since yesterday! Its addicting! The only problem is that I dont have a controller, so I have to use my keyboard and the arrows and buttons are backwards from a regular controller, so it is really confusing on which buttons to push! I am starting to get the hang of things but I was struggling there for a little bit. Once I beat Mario, I think I am going to play Mike Tyson's Punchout! I bet Jeff and Chad and Travis all still know the password to get to Mike Tyson. I used to know it but I didnt really play it as much as you guys did. Good ol' Nintendo! That is another thing that helps you get through a boring study hall when you have no homework!
Wow I had a lot more to say than I thought I did! Thats always how it is.

Oh Chad, I only benched 160, I am so weak... the last time I even went into a weight room was in March! I am way sore! I squatted around 250 though.

And Travis, on So Du Ku, you have to have each row, colomn, and 3x3 square have the numbers 1-9. Its cool. I hate crosswords, I am too dumb for those!
Ok now im done

Guess what.... It rained again!!

Well today i was up and runnin at 5:45. I actually dont think it was too bad to wake up that early. Its hard to get out of bed, but once im up, im good to go. I did get a nice wake up call for how weak I am... not to proud of that! We maxed our weight on the main lifts, and I didnt do so good... I did a lot better right before baseball season. Oh well its all good. Just got back from study hall, it was so boring. I didnt have enough homework to fill up the time so i just ended up sitting there for a while, but luckily i have been getting pretty in to doing those su-do-ku puzzles. They are pretty fun! I can only the the very easy ones but still they help the time go by faster, and I actually have fun figuring out how to do them! The first time I ever did one was on the drive here. Dad bought a newspaper and it had one inside it and i got hooked from there on! Good times!

First day of ball

Well today was the first day we did actual baseball stuff. We got our new clothes (2 SVU baseball shirts, 1 pair of shorts, and a pair of black swishey pants like the warm up kind, not sweats... you know what i mean) and then we headed down and got things started. We couldnt do any hitting because the ground was too wet from the rain, but we did infield and outfield work which was good. Classes were good today too, I had my volleyball class and it is so fun! I love it! I just finished doing my reading for Philosophy (so hard to understand) and i am about to turn in for the night. Tomorrow we have to be in the weight room at about 5:45 tomorrow morning! CRAZY!! That makes it 3:45 back home.... hey maybe I will call and wake Kyle up ha ha that would be so funny! And plus its not like he could do anything to me for it! Sweet! I think I will do that one of these days that I get up early. Too bad I dont have a camera so I can post a whole buncha cool pictures of my school and dorm and what not, oh well its not a big deal. Oh man I had something else to say and it totally left me... I hate it when that happens!!

ok bye!!

Todaborday is a Laborday!

Well my labor day has been a pretty good one, nice and relaxing, no troubles. I got almost all of my laundry done, and went to the store and got some detergent and stuff. The dryer here is way better than the one at the laundromat. This one dries it completely, with the other one, your clothes stay wet for at least 4 days! Stupid humidity! Kellen just got back so its not as quiet here which is nice! Here is a surprise... Its raining again! Thats about all i've got to say right now, so peace out!

Go Cougars

Hello everybody and greetings from room 8! Hmmm i have no idea what to write... my mind went blank once I started typing; thats weird. I just tried calling home and no one answered! No one wants to talk to me I guess, but that doesnt really surprise me. Just kidding. (ok now im on a roll, I knew it would come) So yesterday, our football team had their first home game, and for a fundraiser, the baseball team is doing the chains for the home games. I got to do the first down marker. It was pretty cool, I was right on the field and I had the best seat in the house! Too bad we lost but it was a good game. Its funny, because of all the rain, our home field is flooded so they played the game at a high school 30 min away because it has the artificial turf like the U of U field. It was pretty sweet for a high school field.
So I stayed up watching the BYU game last night, which was dumb because they lost! I was watching it at Josh's house and I got back to the dorm around 12 and it was just barely past halftime, so I went into the rec room and watched the rest of the game with a couple of other guys. The game didnt get over until 2:00! What a waste of perfectly good sleeping time! Just kidding, I love watching BYU football, and since they wont be on tv much out here (im surprised they even were on tv yesterday!) I had to seize the opportunity!
Well that is about all I have to say; I have just realized that I dont really ever have anything very cool to say on here, just basically what I did for that day. Weird but oh well.
Im going to try to call home again, maybe someone has changed their mind about wanting to talk to me!
ok bye

I hate the rain!

So it has rained NON-STOP since thursday morning, and it rained for most of the day on wednesday too! A guy can only handle so much rain. It just comes down in a downpour all the time. Its mostly because of that hurrucane Ernesto or whatever its called...who cares its stupid all the same!
Well today I got the privilege of moving for the third time since I have been here. I got a knock on my door tonight and the housing lady told me i was moving to the dorms. Good news right? Not exactly... you see about 15 minutes before she came, Kellen left to be with his wife, so i had to move all my stuff, AND his stuff all by myself! Grrrr, i was pretty ornery tonight to say the least. But, I got everything in here and I am all settled. I am almost all unpacked, and I organized everything and put my sheets on my bed. Its pretty cool actually. Its small, like the size of the big bathroom at home (ok maybe a bit bigger but you know what I mean) and I dont have a tv, or maid service, or bathrooms, but its cool. Its good to know that I wont be moving again and I will be able to settle down and get into more of a routine. Plus the dorms here are like 20 yards from the classrooms, and a little bit further from the cafeteria. I like this campus, its like walking through a neighborhood because most of the buildings (business office, financial aid office, etc.) are all old housed converted into offices. So now the only thing I will need my car for is driving to practice, and going to the store or whatever. Its cool.
When I got in my room I thought I would turn on the internet, but for some reason my wireless internet network connector thingy wasnt even on my computer, it was weird, I had my wireless card in, and it just didnt pick anything up. So once I got unpacked I made the journey (about 7 miles) to Wal-Mart and I picked up a CAT 5 ethernet cable (there is a plug in the wall that I noticed) so I plugged it in and now I am just using the campus DSL so it all works out. I also had to buy a garbage can and some goodies because I was running low, and had nowhere to put all my garbage... obviously.
Anyway, I have written a lot, which amazes me because I usually dont have much to say, but seeing how I am 2000 miles away from home I find it quite easy to find things to say. Kinda weird. Im sure glad there are these blogs; it makes it quite convenient and easy to stay in touch.

I miss everyone, and I will talk to y'all right quick!

my legs hurt

Ok well I didn't write about it yesterday because I was too tired, but for our conditioning, we had to run up the HUGE hill, not on the street, straight up the grass hill! Its about 100 yards high and is ridiculously steep. Oh man it was so hard. We had to un up 10 times. After about the 3rd or 4th one I was dying! Actually almost all of us were so that tells you how hard it was. I couldnt believe it. My legs were shaking so bad I could barely stand up! Crazy. Its weird the only thing that really got sore on me today was my calves. They are so tight. You would think my legs would be shot, but it was good for them. I dont get it. Oh well.

Well today was a pretty good day, I had volleyball class today. Its so fun I love it! There are a few girls in there that are way better than I am, its a little weird. Other than that nothing really stands out about my day today, so now im going to stop writing now.

so stop reading!

New Room!

Yesterday the manager came to our door and told us that we were being moved into a different room in the motel. This was because one of our beds was broken. We had to go to a smoking room, and it is a little smaller, but it has a fridge, and a microwave! Woo -hoo!!! Its not bad, I dont even notice the smell anymore, we put an air freshener in, and its hiding the smell quite nicely. Its a good room though, the beds seem more comfortable. It was just harder to find a place for all of our stuff because it is smaller, but overall I dont mind it at all. Im just back at the room on a break from classes; I think I will head over to the cafeteria for lunch here in a little bet. My classes are going pretty well, no complaints. They aren't too hard, and plus we (almost all athletes) are required to attend 4 hours of study hall a week, so I went to that last night for 2 hours and got some homework done. Some rooms can be loud and hard to concentrate, but I moved to another classroom and was able to have peace and quiet. It is a pretty good thing because you can get into groups and study the same subject together, and most of them have tutors there to help. It goes kind of slow, but it is good to give us that added help, and motivation to do our work. Thats about it for now, I need to factor in the walking back time. I drove to campus earlier today, but after my 10:00 class got out I felt like walking home.... so I did! its not bad, it takes around 10 minutes. Anyway this was a lot longer than i had anticipated it would be so I hope you enjoy out there in bloggerland.

talk to y'all later

I'm out of shape

Well today was the first day that we did our conditioning and running. It was pretty rough. We started out running 2 miles (not bad) we had to run up the huge hill which is steeper than Old Main but not as long (ask dad, its true!) and we finished up with a lot of sprints. Then we did some abs but after the running my side was really sore DONT WORRY nothing is wrong, its just not used to doing that much stuff. Mom you will be proud I did my laundry today for the first time here. I was running out of clothes! Oh and on sunday I ironed my shirt, and I did a pretty dang good job too! What can i say, im pro. Ok well im tired of writing, and I am still a little frustrated. The wireless connection is not the best here, so the internet cut out on me in the middle of writing this. I lost it all and had to start over.... AGAIN!!! Man these computer thingys are too complicated for me.

Until next time....

GRRRRR

So i just spent all this time typing a really intense long post about how i went to falcon falls today and jumped off the cliffs into the pool of water, but i accidently clicked on something and lost it all. So lame.... you all would have been impressed. If you want details about it you can call me; im too frustrated to re-type it all. grrr stupid computers and stuff

Friday, August 25, 2006

Well i got sorta bamboozelled into starting up one of these now that im officially a college student and what-not. Im not very good at just randomly writing and coming up with stuff to say, but it is mainly just to stay in touch, so there you go. Right now im just kickin it in my motel, who knows when i will be able to move into a dorm hopefully pretty soon, but so far im liking it. I had my second day of classes today and they were not bad. I am going to have to get used to the fact that I will need to do a lot of reading. That will be a little hard for me because I get side tracked pretty easily when im reading texts. oh well we will see how it goes. so thats about it, i need to go back to the school right quick to take care of some jazz.
