Big Surprise

So guess what... my internet worked for like a couple hours, and didnt work again until about 30 minutes ago. I hate it, you never know when it will work. I had to do the football game today, so I couldnt go to conference. I was hoping that I would be able to catch the rest of it on the internet, but no, the internet didnt work! Grr. At least I could go to Priesthood though. Its weird because I am so used to the conference times at home, but now it starts later. Kinda fakes me out. I guess one good thing about going to the game today is that I actually got to see a good game; they won their first game today! It was like 28-25. It was so funny, after the game when the coach was talking to the team, a couple of guys dumped the water on him like they won the superbowl or something. It was pretty funny. I guess they just think that they wont win another game so they had to take advantage of the opportunity.
Im kinda bored right now, I am waiting for my laundry to finish.
Oh, yesterday we had our game against Roanoke College. We played 11 innings I think. It was long. But anyway, we were playing pretty good the whole game, we had the lead by at least 1 run pretty much the whole time, but in the 9th inning, they had a few hits and we had a few errors and they scored 4 runs. We should have won. Oh well it was not bad to play. It was an hour drive to get there, and the guys from the team last year told us to enjoy it while it lasts, because it is easily the shortest drive we will ever have. Thats something to definately look forward too... dang! Im not even going to say how bad I did hitting though so dont ask. I played good defense though. I had 6 or 7 put-outs. So that was something that I could be proud of. Well hitting wasnt so bad, I just am having troubles feeling comfortable and stuff. Not a big deal. Its over. Too bad that was our only game this fall though. I want to play again it was good. That team wasnt as good as we made them look. Our team is looking better than I had anticipated though, especially for only having 14 players on the team. I bet the other school though we were just somo podunk school. They had like 35 guys on their team, so we looked a little different than them to say the least.

WOO HOO!!!

Good news! My internet finally works! It has been 2 days! Man I was going crazy. I dont know how people lived without the internet. I couldnt do it. So one of my friends that lives upstairs just started watching lost season one and he doesnt have a computer, so we watch it on mine. I am starting to get hooked again even though I have already seen it, its funny. I am getting him addicted to it though, he is trying to get as caught up as possible before the premier of season 3 so he is just renting random episodes and then just reading the recaps for all the other ones he missed. I am getting pumped for the new season though! It will be good.
Ok well I need to study philsophy before I go to bed.
see ya

work work work

Well right now I am at study hall so I should be studying right now, but the reason why I am writing this right now, is because the internet is down in my room, so this is the only time that I can get on the internet, so I am taking a study break for a few minutes. Its so frustrating because I ask one of my friends in the same dorm, and his internet works just fine. Mine goes in spurts. It will work for a while and be fine then for about a day long span it wont work at all- wireless or the LAN. Stupid huh?! So basically it is a waiting game. Its kind of intense because you dont know when it will work or not, so you are playing a game of "beat the buzzer" (dont really know much about that except it helped jeff stay nice and dry at nights. It sounded like a good thing to say so dont get mad if it doesnt fit)
Well i better get back to work. I have to read and summarize a few articles so... peace out!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Well big surprise I bought another thing off of ebay! If I dont watch myself I am going to get hooked like Dad was for a while! Ha ha just kidding. Anyway, I asked Dad about it yesterday, and we decided to get me a new bat... so I bought one today! Im pretty excited about it!
So lets recap the ebay purchases:

1. Sunglasses

2. Braves hat (technically I got it on the mlb.com site)

3. Batting gloves

4. Chad's present (another mlb.com purchase but I figured that these should be included in the list anyway.)

5. Baseball bat

So basically if anyone asks you how I am doing, or what I am up to, just tell them that I am spending all of my money!

Well thats about it for now

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUSSIN!!!

Just call me Andre Agassi

Unfortunately my sore throat came back today. Its weird my throat doesnt kill, its like deep in my throat. I have to cough out the phlegm but its way deep in there and I cant get it out. Its weird. But i am able to cough better at night so that helps clear things up. But dont worry everybody, its just a cold.

In cooler news, today me and Kellen decided to go to Wal-Mart and buy tennis racquets! We were pretty pumped. I pretty much have never played tennis so its fun to try. We played today and I am so bad, its funny. But we are going to get all the guys and start playing it will be pretty rad. I also had to buy a new lamp today. I wasnt too happy about that. My other lamp broke about a week ago and I couldnt handle being in the dark anymore. I am an idiot though because the lamp didnt come with a bulb and I didnt realize that until I opened it, so I had to drive all the way to the store again to get a bulb. Definately wasnt in a good mood! No worries though because now there is light!

Bowl-O-Rama!

So I went bowling today! It was way fun. We had to drive 45 minutes to get there, but it was good. Me and kellen and 3 other baseball guys went it was cool. They are all older than us too so it was cool that they invited us. We are getting good friends with those guys I like them a lot. One is from Idaho and he is the one of the funniest guys that I know. The other is a quiet guy from Texas and he is way funny too. They are both like 23 or 24 and the other guy is the one that dad met from pennsylvania, and he is a cool guy too. Overall it was a good day, slept it, watched a lot of college football and went bowling. It stinks that there is nothing to do in this town! You basically have to drive 30-40 minutes to do anything fun. Oh well its not too bad.
I already told Kyle and Chad, but gas in Buena Vista is only $2.18 and when we went to Stauton (for bowling) the gas was only $1.97!!! I couldn't believe it! Its not like its a small town or anything, its a city about the size of like Sandy or something. Crazy. I thought that the gas here was way good and then I saw the other gas price. Couldn't believe it.
ok, t.t.f.n. ta ta for now

Hi everybody, guess what, I think I am going to get sick. My throat hurts. its not too fun. Thats about all that I have to say about that so I am going to go to bed.

iTunes is cool

Well today I bought Chads birthday present on the internet, its a pretty good one I think. Pretty sure that it is something that he will be able to put to good use
Anyway, in case you didnt know (well maybe everyone except jeff ha ha), itunes is a pretty cool thing! I downloaded the latest version the other day, and it has some cool features. On the last version, if you wanted to have the album art show on the screen or on the ipod itself you had to search for it and do load it on manually. Now you can just log on and it will automatically search for the ones you dont have and update it for you. I have all the cd cover art for all the albums on my itunes its pretty cool. Another cool thing about itunes and a LAN network is that you can make it so your playlists can be viewed and played by anyone else that is on itunes and is connected to the network. Right now there are 9 people logged on and you can just click on their name and it brings up there songs. Its pretty cool, you are able to view and listen to other peoples favorite music and its free. The only thing that I wish you could do is import their songs from their playlist straight to your itunes. Too bad, it helps you learn about new bands and see what other people like to listen to though. I am glad that I discovered it a little while ago.

Cool beans

I talked last night to my friend Mark Smith. He is going to the MTC tomorrow. Its weird that I will have 2 friends there already. He was pretty nervous and excited though but it was good to talk to him. I dont know what the deal is, but lately i havent really had the desire to write on here very much. I think its just because nothing cool has happened, and also I guess I have been pretty busy with school and ball. My sunglasses came yesterday. They are pretty cool, a few scratches, but overall they are good, especially for only $75 bucks. The only bad thing is that they dont fold. Pretty weird. But thats ok because I just am going to put them on my hat when I dont wear them anyway.
School is going pretty good... starting to get a little more work everyday. I guess its because they figure that we are getting the hang of things and we can handle it now. But I only have 3 classes that I have to do constant reading for so its not too bad..
Oh I forgot to tell you but right after I bought the sunglasses, I bought a Braves hat on the internet. Its the old Hank Arron era hat, the royal blue with white on the front and the old "A" logo. Pretty sweet, I like it. As soon as I fill up my camera you will all be able to see everything that I am seeing out here, so I will get on that for ya.
Ok well i need to get ready for practice, so until next time...

Haircut

For some reason I havent witten for a few days its kind of weird. I guess I have just been too busy, or nothing really exciting happened. Today was stake conference. It was pretty good, a little different than what I am used to back home, but not bad. They had to do 3 sessions though! Thats crazy! Its funny the stake center is the EXACT model of the church by our house! Even down to the weird stuff on the walls and the wood panel framing... its just weird. I felt like I was in our church at home! The only real difference is that the gym floor is still carpeted like ours used to be. Its interesting that the stake center is the same size as a normal meetinghouse in Utah is. It was packed too. So I told most of everyone today, but I gave myself a haircut yesterday. I was sick of my hair, it was getting way long. Longer than it has been since I started growing it out last year, or whenever I did it. Not too bad. I just buzzed it, not way short like i did in the summer. Thats about it for now. I have a disposable camera and as soon as I take all the pictures, I will get them put on a cd so I can post pictures for all of y'all to see.
ok bye.
gotta get up early.
really early

Volleyball master!

So today we bought a plane ticket for me to come home for Thanksgiving! Me and dad were looking at tickets the other day and they were around $400 bones and that was the best deal, and now today I was just looking at the flights to see if they went up and the exact same flight was only $268 bucks! I got all pumped, so I called dad, and we bought the ticket! Its official, I fly home on November 21, and fly home on the 27th. I am pretty excited to go home!! In other news, I had volleyball class today and it was like the best day for volleyball so far! We all played so good! I am getting so good at volleyball now. I can pass, set and spike pretty good now. I can actually smash the spike instead of just hitting it over. You might as well call me a pro. I never used to bea able to spike it the right way, but now I got the skills so I can hit it like a champ! Well I better wrap it up, I gotta get up early tomorrow. Man its hard to wake up at 5:30!!!

Jeff's article

Check it out, this isJeff's article in the school newspaper!

Test

So I beat Super Mario 3 today. Good day. I am probably going to start playing Super Mario 2 here right quick. I took my Philosophy test today. It was pretty hard! It had 7 multiple choice questions worth only like 2 pts each and the rest of the points(80 something) was all on a 2 page essay you had to write. College is hard! But I don't think I did too bad though. I was able to do the whole thing, but we will just have to see wont we? Last night at study hall I was just sitting adn studying my book for that class and some guy came up and invited me to go study with him and a few other people that have the same class. That was good because I was able to get new ideas and learn new stuff. I think I would have really struggled even more without that so it was cool.
Man this gettin up at 5:30 is really getting to be a hard thing for me to do. I have to try to go to bed early so I get more sleep, but I can never fall asleep quickly. So today I am just so tired and worn out. Plus I have that class pretty early in the day, so I was still tired when I took the test. Oh well, once I get into more of a routine it will get better; But right now im just tired! Um thats about all I have to say right now.

Cooler shades!

Good news, I bought a pair of sunglasses! I didnt get the ones i just wrote about, these are just barely used but in good shape. I think it was a good deal, but maybe im just dumb! Ha ha but ya these are way cooler than the other ones duh! Im pretty excited though because they were only $75 bones. I'll take a picture of them when i get them because mom gave me some cameras! So thats pretty much the end of my story.

sunglasses!

Shades

I am thinking about buying some sunglasses for baseball. When I am playing center field the sun is right in my eyes! It is bad too because it is always misty and kinda smoggy looking so its hard to see the ball. Tell me what you think of this pair of shades. They are on ebay and I am thinking about bidding on them. So... should i get them?!

Randomness

Well today was another day of doing the chains at our football game. It was not as cool as last time because our team got destroyed! it wasnt even a good game. They lost 42-7. Oh well it was alright I guess. I am starting to get to know and be better friends with the guys here, its pretty cool. So I have been playing Mario a lot still. I am addicted! Almost got it beat. I dont even notice the humidity anymore which is nice, the only thing I am still having troubles adjusting with is the time change. I just dont feel tired when I am supposed to. Plus the tv times are not as good here. I like the times that shows are on back home. Everything starts later here its weird. This is just like a hodge podge of random ramblings, I dont know why, but I keep writing sentences that have absolutely anything to do with what I was talking about earlier... too bad for you! There is nothing to do in this town, you really have to be creative to figure out what to do on the weekends! I am not creative so its rough. In some ways I still feel like I am in high school. The small school, small sports, still play cops and robbers at night (thats what some people are doing tonight, not me trust me, thats pushing it for something to do.) But I am playing Nintendo so I guess I have no room to talk.
Well thats about it for now, I really need to get these things organized or outlined or something so I dont just keep doing long random posts... hmmm maybe later.

Blah

Its late...im not tired.

Must Save The Princess!!

Well its getting close to bedtime seein how I gotta get up nice and early tomorrow. The good thing is that we only do it mon. wed. and fri. I dont really have much to say tonight... school was good today I had institute at 8 and then volleyball at 9:30 and English at 12:30 then baseball at 3:00 Not too bad of a day! We went to the high school in Lexington ( about 7 miles away) to practice because we are practicing at a middle school right now and its not exactally a "real field" but its a good field, its a little smaller than copper hills but its not bad. We hit today at practice. I think I did a pretty good job, it felt good and I had some pretty decent swings. You can tell that I am just a bit rusty, but that will get better with time. I have another night with little to no homework which is real nice!

I need to do laundry... my clothes are getting pretty scarce but I still have some. My laundry bag is about to burst. The only problem is that it costs 2.25 to do one load (including dryer) so if I want all my clothes done I would need to do 2 loads. I just dont have the quarters! Its stupid they have NO coin machines in this whole town too! I just havent made it to the bank to cash the ten dollars mom gave me into quarters. Once I do that I will be in god shape with the laundry situation.
Its funny I got invited to be in a fantasy football league here and the league name is called SVU Football Buddies but the weird thing is that I have no idea who invited me to be in this league and how they got my email address in the first place!! Oh well it will be fun anyway! I just want to find out who it is that invited me... weird.

So Clark and Travis will be proud of me because they are the ones that started doing this; yesterday I downloaded a Nintendo emulator on my computer so I can download and play any Nintendo game, and I have been playing Super Mario Brothers 3 like crazy since yesterday! Its addicting! The only problem is that I dont have a controller, so I have to use my keyboard and the arrows and buttons are backwards from a regular controller, so it is really confusing on which buttons to push! I am starting to get the hang of things but I was struggling there for a little bit. Once I beat Mario, I think I am going to play Mike Tyson's Punchout! I bet Jeff and Chad and Travis all still know the password to get to Mike Tyson. I used to know it but I didnt really play it as much as you guys did. Good ol' Nintendo! That is another thing that helps you get through a boring study hall when you have no homework!
Wow I had a lot more to say than I thought I did! Thats always how it is.

Oh Chad, I only benched 160, I am so weak... the last time I even went into a weight room was in March! I am way sore! I squatted around 250 though.

And Travis, on So Du Ku, you have to have each row, colomn, and 3x3 square have the numbers 1-9. Its cool. I hate crosswords, I am too dumb for those!
Ok now im done

Guess what.... It rained again!!

Well today i was up and runnin at 5:45. I actually dont think it was too bad to wake up that early. Its hard to get out of bed, but once im up, im good to go. I did get a nice wake up call for how weak I am... not to proud of that! We maxed our weight on the main lifts, and I didnt do so good... I did a lot better right before baseball season. Oh well its all good. Just got back from study hall, it was so boring. I didnt have enough homework to fill up the time so i just ended up sitting there for a while, but luckily i have been getting pretty in to doing those su-do-ku puzzles. They are pretty fun! I can only the the very easy ones but still they help the time go by faster, and I actually have fun figuring out how to do them! The first time I ever did one was on the drive here. Dad bought a newspaper and it had one inside it and i got hooked from there on! Good times!

First day of ball

Well today was the first day we did actual baseball stuff. We got our new clothes (2 SVU baseball shirts, 1 pair of shorts, and a pair of black swishey pants like the warm up kind, not sweats... you know what i mean) and then we headed down and got things started. We couldnt do any hitting because the ground was too wet from the rain, but we did infield and outfield work which was good. Classes were good today too, I had my volleyball class and it is so fun! I love it! I just finished doing my reading for Philosophy (so hard to understand) and i am about to turn in for the night. Tomorrow we have to be in the weight room at about 5:45 tomorrow morning! CRAZY!! That makes it 3:45 back home.... hey maybe I will call and wake Kyle up ha ha that would be so funny! And plus its not like he could do anything to me for it! Sweet! I think I will do that one of these days that I get up early. Too bad I dont have a camera so I can post a whole buncha cool pictures of my school and dorm and what not, oh well its not a big deal. Oh man I had something else to say and it totally left me... I hate it when that happens!!

ok bye!!

Todaborday is a Laborday!

Well my labor day has been a pretty good one, nice and relaxing, no troubles. I got almost all of my laundry done, and went to the store and got some detergent and stuff. The dryer here is way better than the one at the laundromat. This one dries it completely, with the other one, your clothes stay wet for at least 4 days! Stupid humidity! Kellen just got back so its not as quiet here which is nice! Here is a surprise... Its raining again! Thats about all i've got to say right now, so peace out!

Go Cougars

Hello everybody and greetings from room 8! Hmmm i have no idea what to write... my mind went blank once I started typing; thats weird. I just tried calling home and no one answered! No one wants to talk to me I guess, but that doesnt really surprise me. Just kidding. (ok now im on a roll, I knew it would come) So yesterday, our football team had their first home game, and for a fundraiser, the baseball team is doing the chains for the home games. I got to do the first down marker. It was pretty cool, I was right on the field and I had the best seat in the house! Too bad we lost but it was a good game. Its funny, because of all the rain, our home field is flooded so they played the game at a high school 30 min away because it has the artificial turf like the U of U field. It was pretty sweet for a high school field.
So I stayed up watching the BYU game last night, which was dumb because they lost! I was watching it at Josh's house and I got back to the dorm around 12 and it was just barely past halftime, so I went into the rec room and watched the rest of the game with a couple of other guys. The game didnt get over until 2:00! What a waste of perfectly good sleeping time! Just kidding, I love watching BYU football, and since they wont be on tv much out here (im surprised they even were on tv yesterday!) I had to seize the opportunity!
Well that is about all I have to say; I have just realized that I dont really ever have anything very cool to say on here, just basically what I did for that day. Weird but oh well.
Im going to try to call home again, maybe someone has changed their mind about wanting to talk to me!
ok bye

I hate the rain!

So it has rained NON-STOP since thursday morning, and it rained for most of the day on wednesday too! A guy can only handle so much rain. It just comes down in a downpour all the time. Its mostly because of that hurrucane Ernesto or whatever its called...who cares its stupid all the same!
Well today I got the privilege of moving for the third time since I have been here. I got a knock on my door tonight and the housing lady told me i was moving to the dorms. Good news right? Not exactly... you see about 15 minutes before she came, Kellen left to be with his wife, so i had to move all my stuff, AND his stuff all by myself! Grrrr, i was pretty ornery tonight to say the least. But, I got everything in here and I am all settled. I am almost all unpacked, and I organized everything and put my sheets on my bed. Its pretty cool actually. Its small, like the size of the big bathroom at home (ok maybe a bit bigger but you know what I mean) and I dont have a tv, or maid service, or bathrooms, but its cool. Its good to know that I wont be moving again and I will be able to settle down and get into more of a routine. Plus the dorms here are like 20 yards from the classrooms, and a little bit further from the cafeteria. I like this campus, its like walking through a neighborhood because most of the buildings (business office, financial aid office, etc.) are all old housed converted into offices. So now the only thing I will need my car for is driving to practice, and going to the store or whatever. Its cool.
When I got in my room I thought I would turn on the internet, but for some reason my wireless internet network connector thingy wasnt even on my computer, it was weird, I had my wireless card in, and it just didnt pick anything up. So once I got unpacked I made the journey (about 7 miles) to Wal-Mart and I picked up a CAT 5 ethernet cable (there is a plug in the wall that I noticed) so I plugged it in and now I am just using the campus DSL so it all works out. I also had to buy a garbage can and some goodies because I was running low, and had nowhere to put all my garbage... obviously.
Anyway, I have written a lot, which amazes me because I usually dont have much to say, but seeing how I am 2000 miles away from home I find it quite easy to find things to say. Kinda weird. Im sure glad there are these blogs; it makes it quite convenient and easy to stay in touch.

I miss everyone, and I will talk to y'all right quick!
