Free Food!

Today was a pretty good day. I got to sleep in until 12:00. I havent done that for quite some time now. At 4:00 the team got together and listened to a presentation of a company that sells security systems in the summer. 2 guys on our team did it last summer, so they were using this as a recruiting chance. The company also became a sponsor for our team which is really cool. They gave $2,500 to the baseball team. That was way cool of them. The company is just filthy rich and growing like crazy, it is called APX security systems. They talked to us today about the company, what it is about, and the benifits of working for them. One of the huge and obvious benefits is that you get paid rediculous amounts of money for only working for 3 months during the summer. The guys on our team made over $30,000 just this past summer. They are both getting married, and have that all paid for, and they both bought new cars and stuff. It seems like a scam, and that you would work the summer and not end up getting a check, but it is the real deal. Last summer they were in Bakersfield, CA and sold there. It is the basic door to door salesman job but it is one of the most successful, and largest summer sales programs out there. I am thinking about doing it. They start right after school gets out all the way until a few days before school starts again, but I talked to one of them and they are pretty leanient with that if you have other circumstances. For example, I asked him if I would be able to work the main portion of it, but then leave on a mission, and he said they are all for it. It is cool, I am definately going to look into it more. They said some of the guys that have been selling for about 5 years or so have made at least up to a million dollars. That is crazy. I think that the company has a location in Provo. Oh I almost forgot to say that they took us all to dinner at Applebees too. They let us get whatever we wanted, so I got an appetizer, the Fiesta Lime Chicken, and then some apple pie. It was awesome! I love free food! They gave us a bunch of cool shirts and hats too, they were cool guys.
The funny thing is that after that, I went to a movie in Lexington, and we saw them in the foyer after. It was funny. Cool beans, I am tired, I am up too late... again
bye

well, let me just tell you that both me and Clark worked in the accounting department for a company exactly like the one you met with. Although it is true that you can make a lot of money, you can also LOSE a lot of money. And, the work is really hard. I personally would NEVER work for a company like that, just because of my experience at Icon Security. But, yeah, there was a kid who made like 100,000 dollars in one summer. So, it is definitely possible. The thing they don't tell you is that most people barely break even. And, a lot of people wash out because the work is really crappy - and so they end up losing money. So. Just FYI.

One major thing to you need to do is look at your timing issues. For example: if you leave on your mission in the fall after having worked all summer, you will get back just in time to go to school. You will have no time for summer ball to get you back into the swing of things. Also if you happen to switch schools you will need time to get all of the paper work going which will be easier if you are already home from you mission. Just some things to think about. Besides being rich isn't all its cracked up to be, all you do is pay taxes. Anyway congrats on the free food.
Love,
Dad
